Health Care Equipment & Supplies

We have two and a half decades of proven experience in providing diagnostic, treatment and monitoring equipment to primary, secondary and tertiary health-care centres. All major hospitals and clinics in Kuwait are using equipment supplied by our company.

Our range of health-care equipment is virtually complete. We have the capability to fully equip ORs, ICUs, NICUs, and CCUs. We supply state-of the art equipment for dialysis and radiology, as well as laser equipment for treatments in dentistry, dermatology and ophthalmology. We design, furnish, network and commission patient data management systems that link bedside devices in ICUs and ORs with central monitoring stations.

In line with our policy of supplying total solutions to the caring professions, a comprehensive range of medical consumables complements our equipment.

Our company can also supply mobile field hospitals for use in wartime and natural disaster situations, customized to cope with the exact nature of the emergency involved. We work closely with Kuwait’s aid agencies -- recently we supplied ambulances, fully furnished with a complete range of emergency equipment and supplies, to Lebanon under a grant from Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

Scientific Equipment And Supplies

Since 1976, we have been providing a full range of scientific equipment to a variety of institutions, specifying, installing, setting up, running performance checks and training our customers’ staff in routine operations before finally handing over to the end-users.

Testimony to the success of this total approach is shown by the range of applications for which we have supplied equipment: in applied research, genetic engineering and molecular biology; in clinical, pathology and quality control laboratories; and for materials testing from chemical and petroleum products to steel and aluminium alloys. Our client–specific laboratory information management systems are used to harness information generated through testing into comprehensive databases for report generation, statistical analysis and quality assurance monitoring. We also stock a complete range of routine laboratory consumables, for day-to-day use.

Our company has supplied and commissioned several pilot plants for petroleum research. Our equipment is used in major educational institutions as training aids for engineering students, learning to apply theory to practice.

Our expertise in scientific equipment extends to environmental protection and pollution control. Customers for our mobile labs, stack-air monitors and water pollutant auto-analysers include the Ministries of Health and Interior, Kuwait University and The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.

Health Services

Recognizing the need for supplemental staffing and home health-care, we established Health-Services in 1997.

Supplemental Staffing provides qualified technical staff for the medical and scientific professions, such as physicians, nurses, nurses aide’s, lab technicians, CSSD operators, application specialists, engineers and technicians. We manage the complete service to reduce costs and enhance the delivery process.

Home Health-Care Services provides nursing services such as hygienic care for bedridden patients and neonates in their homes. This service revolves around teams of rigorously chosen LPN’s, (Licensed Practical Nurses). To maintain their effectiveness, they receive on-going in-house training in local language & culture and modern methods of care. They are supervised by a physician or nurse where the services they perform so require.

Our home health-care service includes the sale or rental of equipment, such as wheelchairs and ventilators, and the supply of consumables, such as pads and bandages.

An extension of home health-care is a home hospice service for terminally ill patients, performed by specially chosen highly skilled licensed practical nurses (LPN) who are noted for their compassion and understanding.

New health service programs under development include provision of a full oxygen therapy service in the homes of emphysema and asthmatic patients, as well as pre- and post-operative transition care between hospital and home.

Technical Support & Service

Our ability to provide total solutions in medical & scientific technology is underpinned by the excellence of Al-Essa’s Technical Support and Service division. The Ministry of Health rates the technical capabilities and service response so highly that we not only service equipment we have supplied but also equipment that MOH has purchased elsewhere.

Product support is delivered by a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians who undergo periodic training in preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance at our principals’ factories overseas. Our approach is proactive. Our central service facility holds a complete inventory of critical spares, and a full-range of precision tools, advanced testing equipment and calibration systems essential for quality product support.

Clients who source sophisticated equipment from us are assured of the technical support needed to operate it. We routinely conduct product seminars and workshops to share technical knowledge and enhance practical skills. As an additional service, we provide application specialists to ensure that our equipment is utilized for its intended purpose in full.

Our response time is second to none. We respond to service calls within four hours and normally provide a complete fix within twenty-four. In the unlikely event that a vital spare part is not available from stock, we arrange an out-sourced solution to aid our customer’s work - our way of ensuring that the provision of services by our clients is never interrupted.

Medical & Laboratory Engineering

We offer expertise in medical and laboratory engineering to conduct requirements analysis, the preparation of techno-economic feasibility studies, selection of appropriate technology, value engineering, assistance in planning and in executing projects. Our consulting and implementation skills have been applied in laboratories in Kuwait’s oil companies, hospitals, schools, research institutes, testing centres and sewage treatment plants.

We have several decades of experience in medical equipment planning, design of medical gas systems with gas flow & consumption monitors, related architectural products and nurse call systems. We provide assistance in specifying and locating equipment for hospitals and laboratories. More than 85% of the medical gas systems currently in use in Kuwait were designed supplied and installed by our company.

We furnish complete assemblies of fixed equipment for health-care facilities such as CSSD, laundries, kitchens and medical waste management systems. Our engineering skills in this field are widely recognized and we have often installed equipment other than our own on behalf of the MOH.

Our crews have specialist knowledge and our workshops are equipped to fabricate and erect special gas systems, clean rooms, technical partitions, wooden & metal casework and laboratory tops. We also offer comprehensive maintenance packages for medical gas and related systems.

Currently we are executing the medical techniques package for the Health Sciences Centre at Kuwait University. This entails the complete supply and installation of laboratory furniture and fixed medical equipment, which we are underwriting with a 2-year warranty.

Rehabilitation & Wellness

We are committed to improving the quality of life for persons with physical disabilities through a variety of services and products.

A highly skilled team of rehabilitation engineers prescribe assistive technology equipment that optimises a seriously disabled person’s ability to function independently, thus reawakening his or her interest in life. Our rehab-engineering program significantly alleviates the long-term costs of caring for disabled persons, because improvements in their quality of life through better seating and positioning tend to prevent or retard the natural progressive degeneration in their condition.

At our Wellness Centres, customers can shop for specialist products for diabetics, ostomy care, customized wheelchairs, and aids-to-daily living such as beds, walkers, scooters, stair-lifts, bed hoists and vehicle lifts. We stock a wide variety of durable medical equipment such as nebulizers, humidifiers, air-purifiers, orthopaedic cushions, mattresses and beds, as well as dietary care products. As part of our focus on addressing quality of life issues, we have medical consultants on rotation in our Wellness Centres to answer customer queries.

In addition, our Wellness Specialists interface with home health-care providers in assessing and equipping a disabled client’s home for enhanced safety and comfort.
